As can be expected, this out-of-synch problem has fixed itself, since
the slave server has since checked the master server for an update.

Resolvers will cache data reported by the gTLD servers, including the
delegation data for the domain in question, for 2 days after the
update percolates to all the gTLD servers. Thus, it takes about 3
days for such changes to be completed, during which the results of a
lookup will be inconsistent.

Can you tell us what resolvers gave the "domain does not exist" answer?
