Re: suspended accounts

I don't think that we are talking the same scenario.
An account has been automatically suspended for non-payment.
The customer calls and whines and we reactivate the account with an addl 7
days to get their payment into the office. I don't want to forget that I
reactivated this account, so I go and put a hold date of 7 days in the future
on their account. This way if their payment doesn't come into the office,
their account will be suspended again.

The catch is - how do I remember that their is a secondary hold. I tried
posting a payment to an account that had this scenario. The payment did not
remove the upcoming hold. I would assume that is because the hold was in the
future, not an existing hold.

What happens if I go in and when I put the secondary hold, I add something to
their name - for example changing it from John Smith to John Smith*******.
This would be noticeable when I go in and post the payment. It would jog my
memory so that the secondary hold could be removed. Are there any potential
problems that this might cause?
