Depends on if you are hanging the automated tasks as client to FileMaker
Pro Server or not. If it's just a client, killing the app won't affect
the data files, but if you want it to be the server, it would.
Someone did send me an email that had three services running on a single
machine... FileMaker Pro Server (a service anyway), with the runtime hung
as a client running automated tasks as a service, and then FileMaker Pro
4.0 as a service/client running the web interface.
I've never acctually tried it, but it should work in theory. But I
definately wouldn't try running the runtime as a service if it's the
acting host, just because I'm not sure how NT will stop the process.

No, probably not... I can just imagine everyone yelling at me that the
report looks funny now because it has color on it... Plus there isn't a
whole lot of room. I think you may just have to run two separate reports
if you want to break them apart.

It never HAS shown people with a credit on the past due report.
