You could have an offer code that gives them access to the special
product... have that product be worth $1,000 for 1 month of service. Then
have the setup fee for that product worth -$999 and 5 months of service.
Their first invoice will have both items on the invoice... giving the total
of the invoice $1 with 6 months of service. Then their billing cycle item
is the $1,000/month item so it will pick up there when they are up for
renewal.

Yeah, that one would get tricky... basically you would need to set a Change
To on the billing cycle item. You can set a billing cycle item to change to
something else on a certain date.
