Yes good idea, and Shawn's implementation is good as well. Now, to make
things a bit more
interesting (or maybe complicated?):
Is the login going to asterisk the password on the salesperson login?
We are moving forward quite a bit with the reseller thingy, and it seems to
be working well. Is it possible to put a field somewhere on the billing
cycle screen that allows us to put in a discount rate for a reseller, and
then have it either take that off the total billing cycle or multiply it by
that factor (we could either do say .9 or .1, depending on how it is
calculated). What we do is charge our resellers less, and allow them to
markup whatever they want. It can be a field similar to the sales tax one,
and right next to the bill now button :)
We decided yesterday to use the master/slave accounts for our resellers (I
had previously used a customer acct types of reseller/secondary). If this
is already implemented forgive me...I know that you can create a slave
account billing cycle item and it automatically gets added to the master
account. Is it possible to tag that billing cycle item with the slave's
user name so that we know where it came from? We've got resellers with
multiple slave accounts, and when they get an invoice, they do not know
which items are for which accounts (and it's not always easy for us to tell).
Now, in the commission reports, it calculates commissions on sales of a
customer. Is there a way to only tag certain products as commissionable?
Some resellers only get one time commissions based on setup fees, and the
commission report is based on all products (or so it seems), and
resellers/salespeople will be getting residuals for everything they sell
(that is a billing cycle product).
For referral credit, is it possible to have different types of credit
given? What I mean by this is that we've been thinking of giving cash
payments for referrals. If we put in $10 in the amount field, it just
credits their account, and we wanted to give them a separate CASH payment
for referrals, not a credit. Also, it would work really nice if they would
only be triggered when they pass a certain amount or time, say every month
or quarter and only when the amount is greater than $50. Now, we're
looking to see how our accounting software can handle this, but I thought
I'd throw it out to you to see if it's a possibility for Optigold to be
able to do.
Lastly, I did the mass replace for salespeople to switch accounts from
Alexi (how I had them before you added the salesperson section in
maintenance) to Alexi Touloumis (how I added it in the salesperson section
in maintenance). Now, the reason I did the replace was because when
running commission reports, it listed Alexi and Alexi Touloumis separately.
So I figured that doing the replace would switch them to all be under
Alexi Touloumis. Unfortunately, the reports are still showing that way
(and this is happening for all our listed salespeople). How can I get
'Alexi' removed from showing on the reports?
