Re: New Generic ReportsFrom: Michael Phillips Date: Friday, January 8, 1999
Time: 1:30:11 pmHow does that correct the problem with *long* company names? <grin>....maybe
a visual look at the problem:
Login Name Company Est Date
-------------------------------------------------
login Joe Sixpak The Wish 1/2/99
login1 Jill Eightpak This is a long name 1/2/99
login2 Mary Lamb 1/2/99
A better way would be:
Login Name Company Est Date
--------------------------------------------------------------
login Joe Sixpak The Wish 1/2/99
login1 Jill Eightpak This is a long name 1/2/99
login2 Mary Lamb 1/2/99
So, if the maximum length of a field in a record is say 20 characters then
the place marker should "reserve" 20 characters for every row on the report.
