I have an issue that may affect others. Network Solutions has had part of a registration update system down for much of this month (possibly earlier). I am compiling a list of affected customers and domains, in the hope that it will help their technicians isolate and correct the problem. I'm asking if you have the same problem, to drop me a note off-list. Symptom: some current accounts registered with NetworkSolutions that are accessed using an account ID number and password to make changes will NOT accept a change made to the admin contact. (i.e., attempts to change the admin contact for domain.com by using an existing "handle" fails without any error. Entering the data simply has no affect on the system and the user gets neither confirmation nor an error message). We first stumbled across this on 6/7 -- but had some complaints possibly related to this in late May. What to do: If your customers are similarly affected, I'd like you to make a list of the customer and domain. No, I don't want the list -- just the number of domains affected, and any additional abnormalities, and how to contact you directly. Please refrain from suggesting to drop NetSol like a rock and move to another registrar -- that is certainly an appealing solution (but not viable if you have no control over the existing listed admin contact). And while the ramifications of this system failure is only moderately serious (from a company that directly and actively competes for hosting with its "affiliates"), I'm not interested in retribution (or class-action lawsuits)... ...yet. I'm just trying to get them to fix their crippled systems. Of course, if you have legal expertise in this matter, I am all ears :) Thanks for the help.
