When testing QuickDNS 3.0 we were occasionally able to crash the application if it was under extreme load for a long period of time on a low-end server.. This caused outstanding queries to pile up and eventually, the server gave up and crashed. To address this, we added a parameter that controlled how many outstanding queries the server should handle before rejecting new queries. There is no UI for this, but the value of maximum outstanding queries can be changed by opening QuickDNS Pro Server in ResEdit and changing the value of STR# 130.

The default value for maximum outstanding queries is 1000. You might want to lower this value to 500 and see if it makes any difference.
