Re: Off topic Dial up equipmentFrom: Jon Hiller Date: Wednesday, August 1, 2001
Time: 1:21:45 amI'm aware of the Card Set, but if you read further into it's specs and speak
to any telco field engineer, they'll recommend against that type of
setup........
Even the ariel systems provide line stats like that in real time......Most
major chassis' have all sorts of troubleshooting and such.....and have GUI
interfaces for them, and the nortel does as well.
And in reality, Nortel (which isn't originally nortels box) includes support
for a year and 24 hour replacement standard.
Not necessarily a nortel fan, but I had enough of paying for updates with
3com in addition to the PRI Cards not being flexible with signaling.
Basically the nortel more features, larger capacity per shelf, and faster
for the same or less. Plus you have an easy migration to DSL or to plug in
SS7 switching. And it holds more calls.......
