I wasnt actually planning on using any of that slots at the moment. I was
only checking out optigolds features. I put in a bogus ad in slot 2, checked
off the "use", and unchecked the "use" on slot on. Then I checked off "use
ads". The "sequential" was checked by default I believe.
Right after that I wanted to see what the ads looked like, so I went to the
main menu, went to the first customer with an invoice, clicked "invoices",
double clicked on the first invoice to open it, and then hit "send/print
now". At that point it freezes.
It just did it again btw while I was retracing my steps.....my NT task
manager shows optigold at 98% resourses.....
OK 3 minutes went by and optigold is still sitting with an hourglass. Hang
on I'll kill the process.
OK, its dead. Now I'll start it up again......
Just logged in, went to the first customer again, pulled up the invoice, hit
print, and it locked up......
I killed the process and started it again. I went straight to preferences
after logging in, then to "invoice ads" , and unchecked the "use" box. Went
back to the customer database, pulled up the invoice, hit "print", and it
asked if I wanted to print or email....no lockup.
Now I just turn on "use" for the invoice ads.....went back to the invoice,
hit print, and it locked up.
This can be duplicated on two workstations. Both have had several
installations of both filemaker runtime and the data files.
The server continues to funtion normally in automated mode, the user on the
server being the same as the machines name.
The server and one workstation is WinNT 4.0, SP3, IE4. The other workstation
is win95 OSR 2 , IE4. All three machines are using just the filemaker
runtime, not filemaker pro.
Wait a minute...I just opened it up again, went to invoice ads, and clicked
the "use" on both the first and second ad. It locked up when printing an
invoice.
Just tried something.....unchecked the first box, and checked only the
second....it locked up again. After a restart I went back to the 2nd ad, and
took out the contact info. Everything was fine, it printed normally. In
noticed in the "contact info", I had the line
email:lanman@globalnetenterprises.com. Ohhhh, I though, maybe the problem is
when there is a hyperlink in the contact info. I put that line only back in
and it locked up.
I then put the same line in the first ad, and it didnt lock up.
Anyway thats more info for you to go on I hope. It seems now that when there
is an email:user@ line in the second ad it locks. I'll let you try that
before I do any more experimentation.
