DNS Expert Crashing Bug related to BIND 9.1.3

There appears to be a problem with DNS Expert and newer versions of BIND.

We have 6 Name servers. 2 run QDNS as primary and one secondary. The
other 4 are a mixture of Linux and BSD.

DNS expert will crash when we run it on our domain when it hits
ns4.mia.net (running BSD on a Sparc). The crash occurs when quering ns4
for zone date. My guess is it is crashing because there is a newer
version of BIND on this box then DNS Expert knows about. Something
quirky between DNS Expert and BIND.. Who knows.

Anyway, we running ns4 on a SparcStation 2 running BIND 9.1.3 on NetBSD
1.4.1. if that helps.

We have confirmed that this is the cause of the crash by simply removing
ns4 as a server for the zone we have it acting as authoritative for.
When we remove it DNS Expert runs fine. We put it back in, well you know.

thanx,

jer (jer@mia.net)
