Re: Credit Card Billing / WEB Authorize transactio n SpeedsFrom: John Verreault Date: Sunday, September 2, 2001
Time: 12:18:44 pmShawn,
After starting our credit card billing and watching WEB Authorize closely, I
do not think that the bottleneck is WEB Authorize.
These are the steps and wait times WEB Authorize displays in the status
window for each transaction.
Waiting for Host a fraction of a second
Transmitting about 1 second
Receiving about 3 seconds
Pausing for next transaction about 6 seconds
The 6 second pause leads me to believe that Optigold is not sending the info
to the gateway fast enough.
We can only process a maximum of 300 transactions/hour.
Is Anyone able to get more than 300 transactions/hour with WEB/PC Authorize?
Any ideas?
Thanks

Mmmm... not really. But you may want to check with the manufacturers of
WebAuthorize to see if your modem config/init strings are setup correctly.
But ultimately modem based processors tend to be a bit slow... they have to
dialup, negotiate the session, and even when they are connected, typically
they only connect at 1200 bps.
I of course lean towards the TCP/IP based gateways (for Canadian dollar
transactions the supported processors are Planet Payment, DataCash, PSiGate
and Royal Bank e-SELECT. Also, if you have any others you would like
integrated (maybe your bank has one for example), let us know.
