Hey, I don't make this stuff up! :-) I don't know how Filemaker deals with it, but in my programming days we used <shudder> Clarion - and the formatting was relative.... Does the customer number float, or is in a fixed position? If it floats, do you have to define the formatting for each position it could potentially end up in? Just an idea.
