About QuickDNS 3.5.1
---------------------
QuickDNS Pro 3.5.1 resolves issues reported with the 3.5 release and
adds some feature enhancements. This is a recommended update for all
QuickDNS 3.x users. Below you'll find information about some of the
changes and fixes in 3.5.1:
Manager:
- Preferences window in Manager is now drawn correctly.
- Manager and Progress window are now drawn correctly on low resolution
(640*480) monitors.
- Changing any value in the preferences dialog box in Manager now enables the
Save button.
- The Copy action now works correctly in the Carbon version of QuicDNS Manager.
- Manager now remembers position of its windows between sessions.
- AppleScript Dictionary now uses the same terminology as the
application itself
(master/slave zones, etc.)
- It is now possible to get and set the default TTL for a zone directly from
AppleScript.
- Changing the Default TTL value in the SOA record now updates TTL values in
other records correctly.
- Entry field for negative caching is no longer displayed when editing a zone
that is stored on a QuickDNS Server for Mac OS 8/9.
- Add Name Server assistant now behaves correctly if the user tries to add a
name server when a server with the same name already exists.
- Import menu item in Manager is no longer enabled when a server that has been
disconnected is selected.
- Syntax checker for SRV records now works correctly.
- It is no longer possible to save zones with incomplete HINFO records.
Remote:
- Fixed a problem where leaving the Statistics window open in Manager
for a long
time could crash QuickDNS Remote.
QuickDNS Server for Mac OS 8/9:
- Fixed a problem where zero length UDP packets could cause the server for Mac
OS 8/9 to go deaf.
- Fixed a problem where certain types of domain configurations could crash
QuickDNS server when it was performing queries.
- Mac OS X users no longer have problems resolving domain names in MiXeD cAsE.
- Fixed a typo in a server log entry.
QuickDNS Server for Mac OS X:
- Installs version 8.2.4 of the BIND DNS server software.
- It is now possible to create zones with a slash (/) in the zone name.
- Fixed an ndc error when creating zones.
- Changing options for forwarding now works correctly.
