Yeah, just a hair off topic but since we're already there....
I got fed up with registrars awhile back and decided to take matters into my own
hands. So I have a wholesale registrar license that I use for doing my own
domain registration (I have about 500 or so domain names) and for my clients (we
do a lot of internet strategy stuff and this often resulted in them needing new
domain names registered quickly so I've probably registered several thousand
domains for clients). The system that I'm a part of is pretty quick and I've
registered a domain name on one afternoon and could access the site by the next
afternoon (but life most things in the internet world, actual mileage may vary).
Anyway, I'd be willing to do com/net/org registration for $14.50/year for anyone
from this listserv, which is less than dotster.com and a whole lot less than
rduonline.com. If you want something other than those TLDs, I may be able to do
those as well -- like .CC is probably about $60/year and becoming more popular
with business and .LA should be $150/year if you've ever wanted a LA (which is
Laos, but would be great for someone I guess in Los Angeles!), and expect to be
able to do .BIZ as soon as the stream is turned on later this month. I can set
the nameservers at the same time as registration as well as take care of other
admin modifications. So that we don't stay OT too long, if you're interested,
send me an e-mail mentioning this post and I'll tell you more.
