Search Again: Bind 9.1.3 Stops answering queries From: Brian Morgan Date: Tuesday, October 9, 2001 Time: 7:20:47 am Hello all, I am running Bind 9.1.3 on a freebsd box, and bind resolves request nicely up to the point that we have a large pool (>150) of dial up users using it. At that point the bind server just stops sending out responses. Once the user number drops below 100 the server works fine. There are no error messages showing up and named doesn't die during this time. The only sign that something is wrong is in the query logs. The log shows a client requesting a domain over and over again. These request will start when the number users gets high and stays around until the number drop again. The strange thing is that the server is working fine now, with out a reload or a restart. So my question is, is there a max number of clients variable that needs to be set? And what else can I do to troubleshoot this problem, I have already set debug levels and the like. Thanks for any hints or pointers. Brian Morgan
