QuickDNS Server 3.5.2From: Sigurdur Ragnarsson Date: Wednesday, October 10, 2001
Time: 10:25:52 amWe've just released QuickDNS Server 3.5.2 for Mac OS Classic. This is a maintenance release that addresses several issues in QuickDNS Server 3.5.1 (see more info below). Note that this release only updates QuickDNS Server for Mac OS Classic. There are no changes to QuickDNS Manager or QuickDNS Remote.
You can download QuickDNS Server 3.5.2 at:
ftp://ftp.menandmice.com/pub/quickdns/QuickDNS_Server_3.5.2.sit.hqx
After installing, just replace your older version of QuickDNS Server with the new version.
We recommend that all users of QuickDNS 3.5 for Mac OS Classic update the server to 3.5.2
More information about this release:
Version 3.5.2 (October 10, 2001):
----------------------------------
- QuickDNS' cache could become corrupted under certain circumstances. This has been fixed.
- When queried about class CHAOS the server now replies with "Not Implemented" instead of (incorrectly) trying to resolve the query.
- The server longer responds to query-responses (malformed queries). Query-responses caused the server to reply with the same query it got. If the query had a fake source address of another QuickDNS Server they would send the packet back and forth for a very very very long time.
- The 'Replies sent' counter is now incremented correctly.
- The server now reports its version number in the log when starting up.
