Well, I'm pretty diligent with DNS, yet I still seem to have old ips creep
in there all the time. If I could get a report that said "six year old IP
failed to respond" I think it'd be easier to pick out rather than having to
open every zone and look at every record.

Hehe, yeah, definitely an 'advanced' somewhat hidden option would be good.
In my perfect imaginary world. It would just try a couple pings to each IP.
So if you had multiple A records pointing to a IP it would try to connect to
that IP just once.
(and then in the report tell you all of the domains that reference the dead
IP)
Plus, even if your DNS were perfect, it would be a quick way to view your
whole network, and you might catch something you forgot to put in
whistleblower or something. I dunno, just a idea I had :)
