lists.domain.org. MX 10 some.mail.server.

DNS doesn't route messages, it answers queries.
MTA's send mail to MX hosts.
The mail server for the inside people will relay the inside peoples'
messages to the MX host for lists.domain.org, providing the DNS used by
that mail server has access to public internet.
