When you say that you "enabled DNS on the new server", do you mean
you enabled the DNS server built into Windows? If so, did you also
create a zone file (or "domain") for the zone in question?

If you did, it may be that there's a mismatch between their version
of the zone and yours. This might be solvable by removing the domain
from their server.
