From: Joseph D''Andrea Date: Sunday, November 4, 2001 Time: 8:28:47 pm New set-up machine-P MacOS 8.6 QuickDNS Server 3.5.2 QuickDNS Remote 3.5.1 QuickDNS Load Balancer 3.0 machine-M MacOS 9.1 WebSTAR 4.4 machine-W MacOS 9.0.4 QuickDNS Server 3.5.2 QuickDNS Remote 3.5.1 QuickDNS Load Balancer 3.0 WebSTAR 4.2 machine-PB (the admin machine) QuickDNS Manager 3.5.1 (carbon) both "P" and "W" have load balance records for a domain that can be served from wither "M" or "W".I have tried various percentages of "50/50" , "1/1" , "99/1" and "1/99". Seems that no matter what I do, when using LBtester, the only IP address that is returned is for "W" If I test either DNS server using LB Tester, I always get server "P" even though load balancing is set up to 1/1. Now here is the weird part. Right now, the "A" record in the zone is for server "P". If I change the "A" record to server "M", then all LB tests return 100% to server "M". >If you put a web browser on each machine running QuickDNS, could you >connect to the (public) IP address of each web server, as listed in >the load balance record?
