The files have always been fine and shut down correctly. I use filemaker
server and shut it down from that. I assume Filemaker server closes the
files correctly right. Anyway I just opened them with the runtime correctly
with no errors?

But the thing is after a database upgrade its opening your files not mine.
So the error would lie in the new database files not the old ones, because
its opening MainMenu.fp5 not MainMenu.fp. It then imports from the old files
after you type importold right? I never get to the login it bombs before the
login screen

The only thing that would cause that is if the files/server was not shut
down properly when you took it down for the upgrade. You may want to open
up your original files first... make sure you get them working properly
before you try to upgrade them.
