Killing me softlyFrom: Aaron Lynch Date: Saturday, November 17, 2001
Time: 10:15:48 pmWe have a mail server that has several extremely busy mailing lists. When I
point the mailserver at our DNS, it seems as though QDNS stops doing
recursion. The server does not crash, but it doesn't answer queries either.
Since the server never actually stops, the mail server never moves on to its
secondary DNS. Then our mail server (CommunigatePro) starts to time out and
the queue grows.
At its peak, QDN said it was doing 20-30 requests per sec. I haven't really
done a lot of testing, I set the CGP machine to get DNS from our upstream
(figuring qwest could cope with it)
Any thought or ideas how I should proceed?
