I think this was addressed in a 2.2.3 update, but there is yet another
update available:

We've just released QuickDNS Pro Server 2.2.4. This is a maintenance
release that addresses a caching problem in QuickDNS Pro Server 2.2.3 (see
more info below). Note that this release only updates QuickDNS Pro Server.
There are no changes to QuickDNS Pro Admin.

You can download QuickDNS Pro Server 2.2.4 at:
ftp://ftp.menandmice.com/pub/quickdns/old/QuickDNSPro2.2.4.sit.hqx

After installing, just replace your older version of QuickDNS Pro Server
with the new version.

We recommend that all users of QuickDNS Pro 2.x update the server to 2.2.4

More information about this release:

Version 2.2.4 (November 19, 2001):
----------------------------------
- This version of QuickDNS Server fixes a problem with caching certain types
of records. With version 2.2.3 of the server, the server could in some
circumstances stop believing replies to queries and get stuck in a loop
where it queried for the same host names over and over again.
