System Preferences/Network may work now, but I believe that's really
intended to define multiple possible interfaces, of which one is used at
any given time.
On Mac OS X Server, as of 10.1 (or was it 10.1.1 or 2?), there's a file
to edit to add additional IP addresses: /etc/IPAliases The detailed
instructions are in that file.
