Search Again: QuickDNS 2.2.4 -deafness still occuring-pleae help From: John Readwin Date: Sunday, January 27, 2002 Time: 2:02:01 pm I recently upgraded to v 2.2.4 from 2.2.2 in hopes that it would solve the problem of my DSN servers going "deaf", but it appears today that they went "deaf" again. Here is the report from DNS Health New errors/warnings that have appeared since your last report ---------------------------------------------------------------------- New errors that have appeared: o The server "lisa.netextras.com." did not reply when it was queried for the name "netextras.com.". This indicates that the server is not running, or it is currently unreachable. [1008] Explanation: http://dhc.menandmice.com/explain/1008.html o The server "marge.netextras.com." did not reply when it was queried for the name "netextras.com.". This indicates that the server is not running, or it is currently unreachable. [1008] Explanation: http://dhc.menandmice.com/explain/1008.html I could however TB2 in to the machine, and page sentry was getting a response as well. I restarted the servers . (I tried to quit QuickDNS on merge.netextras.com- my primary DNS, but it froze the machine,and I had to do a hard restart) After restarting the servers everything seemed to be fine again. Is there something I should be looking for in my logs files? Could this deafness be caused by anything else?
