Personally, I like using dig, whois, ping, traceroute, etc. directly from the
Terminal CLI. Network Utility is just a GUI front-end for them anyway (I'm
pretty sure it uses nslookup instead of dig, and I'd prefer to use dig). I've
generally found it to be more cumbersome than helpful.
