Search Again: Also-Notify From: Jeff Grossman Date: Tuesday, March 26, 2002 Time: 6:49:22 pm I have been reading the O'Reilly DNS book to help me configure my own personal Bind 9.2.0 server. At work, I am running QuickDNS Pro 3.5.3, one on OS X and the other on 9.0.4. How can I tell the OS X QuickDNS server to also-notify the 9.0.4 server to force a zone transfer over to it? Here is how I have it set up. I have a zone on my own personal DNS server running Bind 9.2.0. I have the OS X machine set up as a slave to the Bind machine for this zone. Then, I have the OS9 machine set as a slave to the OS X machine for that zone. The Bind machine notifies the OSX machine the zone changes, the OS X machine requests a zone transfer. Now, I want the OS X machine to send the OS9 machine a notify about that zone. Is that possible? And, if so, how do I do it?
