Re: Email ManagerFrom: Ray Hatch Date: Monday, April 29, 2002
Time: 8:04:27 pmI agree that the login field is the primary identifier in the database. This
was due to the fact that when the software was originally created, dial
based ISP's were the of Optigold's primary market. Now with more and more
broadband service providers whom operate independently on login, it has
become something to use as a work around as opposed to the norm.
I think an easier fix to this would be to allow a search based on first,
last or company name within the same screan that you now use to link a
customer to an email thread.
If I could have the standard interface buttons, [beginning][move
left][find][move right][end] and the fields of [first name] [last name]
[company name]. I could search for a customer based on some general
information found in the email. Usually people, (most people) identify
themselves in their e-mail's in place of just their email address. I could
find this customer, or business, click link and attach the email in the same
fashion that it happens today.
Is this not a possible fix?

Anything other than login is not unique though... You could probably save
yourself trouble and list the customer's emails on their services screen.
Then it will link up automatically if the FROM address is on a customer's
account.
