Search Again: Server giving intermittent errors From: Jason Shewchuk Date: Wednesday, May 15, 2002 Time: 1:44:31 pm Hi all, I am totally lost and have ran out of things I can think of to try with my server. I am running a single ADSL connection (two static IP addresses) into a 10/100 based switch. From here I have one 6100 set up with IPNetRouter to my computers in the office internet access. On the second IP address I have another 6100 set up with Web*, FileMaker Pro, SIMS, and QuickDNS 2.1. This computer I believe is causing me the trouble. All the programs seem to be happily running except my DNS. I work most of the day but then I check and everything just seems not to be running, restart and it all seems back to normal(most of the time). My question would be could someone give me a bit of time to suggest what I have set up wrong with QuickDNS? I believe this is the problem as both SIMS and Web* give errors related to DNS lookups. Two of the domain names I host are bijouenhancements.com and inroads.ca. I have a bunch of others but I assume the rest would just follow suit. Now in OS X I have used their Network Utility to see if I can find anything out. A lookup yields some information but only after running it twice right after each other. I hope someone could help me sort this out. I have been trying many different approaches and nothing seems to be working. I look forward and appreciate any help. JOS
