server events qFrom: Mark Willis Date: Monday, June 3, 2002

I'm working with the new server events. My situation is that I sell 4 different hosting products. The products define the features. For instance, some products allow ASP scripting and some don't.
Here's my problem: Setting up the web site requires that I know what product I'm selling, and the domain name and IP address. I can't set up the web site in a Billing Cycle event because I need to know the domain name and IP; and I can't set up the web site in a Domain event because I need to know the product in order to set up the correct features.
The only way I can think of to work around this is to make each product its own account class, then I can use domain events keyed to the account class.
Is there a better way? How do other people deal with this? I was kind of hoping to reserve the account classes in case I needed it for something else later. On 2.9.6 btw.
Also, shouldn't the account classes be predefined, like the account types, where you can only create a new one in prefs?
Thanks,
Mark
