Re: IPv6 and QuickDNSFrom: Thierry Almy Date: Monday, July 1, 2002
Time: 11:11:16 pmHi
I just joined the list because we have got a serious problem related to IPv6
nic.ch added two IPv6 resource records in its DNS:
merapi.switch.ch. 86400 IN AAAA 2001:620:0:1:a00:20ff:fe88:a3f8
merapi.switch.ch. 86400 IN A6 0 2001:620:0:1:a00:20ff:fe88:a3f8
Since then our Primary DNS (QuickDNS 3.5.3 on OS9) doesn't interpret
requests anymore ...
The name of our Primary is "ns.netfactory.ch" and it fails when
looking up the name "nic.ch" or "switch.ch"
This wouldn't be a big problem for us, but QuickDNS looks up the
nic.ch-servers to make it's zone transfer with the SecondaryDNS ....
So since they added the IPv6 records we can't make zone transfers anymore !
Is there a fix planned for this or do I have to switch my DNS to
another product ? (I really like QuickDNS)
Thanks for any help
Thierry
