No. I'm not trying to kick you off the list. I'm just wondering aloud
why you're here - why you're spending time reading this forum - if
you're not actually using the product. I don't object at all to your
presence as long as you keep your posts civil.

You listed two issues in your message:

1. You never got the second serial number. I've said over and over
again, we were swamped in the first few weeks after the release of
3.5, and so a few requests fell through the cracks; if you didn't get
a second key, ask us again. Therefore, as far as we're concerned,
this issue is resolved until and unless you contact our sales
department and request a second key.

2. We never promised that the keys would be cross platform. We
promised that the product would be available for multiple platforms,
and that a version 3.0 key would get you a working version 3.5 copy.
You wanted a free side-grade to Linux, but we didn't offer that.
Well, we consider the matter closed, making this an old issue.

Have you contacted our sales department to see what kind of offer
they'll make? You won't get a free side-grade, but I doubt you would
be asked to pay full price for the Linux version. Of course, since
you're no longer using QuickDNS, I suppose any price is too much as
far as you're concerned - you don't need the product.

Nope. We've long since realized that we simply can't make everybody
happy and still remain as a going concern, but we don't ignore
customers. We try very hard to satisfy as many customers as we can.

We also don't ignore bugs in the product. We try to find and fix any
bug of consequence in a timely manner, and we log all minor defects
for correction in later updates. There have occasionally been bugs
we've had a hard time fixing, and to my recollection there is one
outstanding issue in QuickDNS 3.5.3 for classic Mac OS (the latest
version supported by your activation key). That bug is of minor
consequence, as it turns out, and mainly puts annoying error messages
in the log file. We have admitted failure in finding the cause(s) of
this problem.

Is there a specific bug you have in mind?

That's not true.

>To this day I still have never received the second serial number.

Ask us again! We've long since lost your original request. Ranting
about this in this forum will not get you a second key - you must
send a request to <mailto:sales@menandmice.com>.

You could have continued to use the activation key you had for one
server. You could have requested a temporary key for your second
server. You could have then been persistent about getting a second
permanent key.

>Further, the advertising said nothing about the upgrade being Mac specific.

Yes, that's true.

Similarly, the advertising for QuickDNS 4 states that it supports
multiple users, and yet that feature is not part of the basic
license. If you want multiple user support in QuickDNS 4, you will
need to buy not just a license for your servers, but also a multiple
user license.

This forum is not the place to discuss sales and licensing issues.
They won't get resolved here. You must contact our sales department
to get such issues resolved. If you request a second Mac OS key for
QuickDNS 3.5, that will be provided free of charge. If you want to
side-grade a Mac OS key into a Linux key, that will cost money. All
such arrangements, however, must be made with our sales department.
