Here's a different view: I requested and received a second serial
number after posting just once to the list about this issue when it
came up, what, over a year ago? I then sent a request to wherever
Chris sent me and that other individual sent me my second number
within a few days of my request. Maybe I didn't complain enough to
be ignored. Maybe I didn't have sufficient lack of tact to be
ignored. Maybe they screwed up in their initial license modification
by not telling all of us clearly and repeatedly that they were
changing their license (which is their perogative) -- then to make
good, they gave away second licenses so we could run primary and
slave servers with version 3.
Dale, this is not a flame war "against" you. Just note that I'm a
completely neutral party on this list (not affiliated with the
company), as I have been on several other lists where you practice
similar posting mannerisms. I'm sure in the flesh you are a nice,
affible guy -- but on lists you seemingly are always combative and
rude. Really hard to want to help you when your first tactic is to
be a jackass. Strange as it may seem, politeness and courtesy
actually get you "more than you paid for" in the world. I'd be
willing to bet in an alternative universe, had you quietly approached
Chris or others at M&M, you would have quietly received your Linux
licenses last year when they gave us a bloody 8 month grace period on
the offer. Alas, your online personality makes you less than
pleasant to try to help.
Have you ever wondered if there is a correlation -- here, or on the
Webstar list... or -- well, maybe you understand and maybe you
don't. I'd just prefer to not read your complaints if you don't have
something constructive within them. I see nothing in the past two
days which would qualify. Hope this sheds some light on your
predicament here.
