Search Again: A records and trailing "." From: Mark Jacobson Date: Tuesday, July 23, 2002 Time: 11:09:50 am Hi All- We recently upgraded to QDNS 3.5 from 2.2 I moved the primary folder into the new directory after installing and 3.5 loaded up and started working just great. Then I went in to add an A record to an existing record and could not save the record because of errors in other A records that were malformed (had an exclamation point in the left box) I could not see anything wrong with the records, and indeed they were fine in 2.2 I found that if I removed the trailing period from the name it then allowed me to save the record. But this appends the main domain to the end of each name to get something like this: Ftp.domain.com.domain.com. If I try just ftp.domain.com. I get an error and cannot save the file. I then went into the setup assistant and created a record from scratch for a fictitious domain. I did not put a trailing "." at the end on the domain, and it appended the domain name again to the end like described above. But it saved it without any errors. What am I doing wrong here?
