Lame Delegations signify...?From: andrew kagan Date: Thursday, August 1, 2002
Time: 8:42:41 amHi All: I'm seeing occasional log lines like:
Aug 1 08:42:42 Lame delegation for "hfmus.com." from "212.111.32.38:53"
Aug 1 08:42:43 Lame delegation for "hfmus.com." from "209.10.66.55:53"
Aug 1 08:42:43 Lame delegation for "hfmus.com." from "209.10.34.55:53"
I am not affiliated in any way with that domain.
What conditions create this response?
Is it that a primary NS for a domain mistakenly thinks my DNS is a
secondary to it? Or what other conditions would lead a computer to think
my DNS was authoritative for the domain?
I normally see a lot of "lame delegation" log lines for all sorts of
domains I've never heard of. However, in the example above, I AM
familiar with that domain and have sent mail to it frequently...is there
a correlation?
TIA, Andrew
