Login restrictions.

Shawn,

One of my employees just stumbled across a real problem. We need to have
a preference for forcing login names to be lower case. I'm not sure if
you're familiar with the problems that will be created with mail delivery
should a login name be entered in upper case on your unix system but it
will be a problem.

In the office, we're all smart enough to know that and make sure it's
entered in lowers but we're looking at setting up the signup server
and our users aren't all that smart. I can just see getting a call on
Monday morning from Joe Luser who set up his account on Saturday but can't
get his email.

Can we set a preference forcing login names to entered in all lowers, or
just auto-magically convert any caps in the login field to lowers?

Since we're on the subject, can we also force them to use only alpha and
numeric characters in their login name?

And, last but not least, force the login name to start with an alpha
character?

Matt
