Re: How-to?From: Lance Brown Date: Wednesday, September 11, 2002
Time: 6:53:20 amI went in and added three products...Setup fee, Installation fee,
Router fee.
I chose 'Setup fee' for setup prod_id for every DSL product.
'Installation fee' (setup prod_id) for 'setup fee'.
'Router fee' (setup prod_id) for 'Installation fee'.
When adding a new customer online. At the point of selecting a product.
You only see the first setup fee. So the customer will assume that they
are paying x per month and y for the setup fee. (Where y equals 'Setup
fee'). When the transaction was completed only 'setup fee' showed on
the invoice. The other setup prod_id's do not get listed or charged.
I am not trying to make a big deal out of this. I am just trying to
figure out how to have 3 setup prod_id's with only one being taxable.
Are other people doing this? Listing a Setup fee (actual manual work to
get a customer programmed and activiated), Installation fee (for the
actual on premisis work) and charging for the modem/router hardware.
This is not a problem when we enter the user into the system because we
can train to add three products to every new customer invoice. But if
we are going to start using the web interface something needs to be
different.
