I am a debian user. I have read that an alienated Filemaker.rpm work=
s
very well under Debian. The trial version has some issues when used.
apt-get install alien
alien Filemaker5.5.rpm (or whatever that file was called)
dpkg -i Filemaker5.5.deb
cheers,

Shawn,
Do you know off hand if the Linux FM server 5.5 would rely on any externa=
l
programs other than possibly a shell? The reason I ask is that I am goin=
g
to
run it from a chrooted environment and would like to have minimal clutter.
Also NOTE that it does not run under *RedHat 7.3*. I had to compile a fre=
sh
glibc and chroot the server to get it working. I=92ll rate RedHat 7.3
as =93garbage=94 at this point I think. :P It is clearly not a Filemake=
r or
glibc
issue, though a statically compiled =93fmserverd=94 would have probably
eliminated
all of this.
