No... you would have to specifically turn it on (it's off by default, even
for local access). If someone had the security to enable the ODBC access,
they would have enough security to save the data files themselves, burn them
to a CD and take them home anyway (which seems like it would be easier than
enabling the ODBC connection for remote access).

Personally, I think the XML access is better than the ODBC access because
you can control it (make your own logins/passwords, etc.) via the web
security databases. I'm sure they will put similar flexibility into
FileMaker for ODBC at some point, but at this point it's not there.
