Shawn, I don't understand a word that you said in that last paragraph, but
if it provides some direct benefits to the end user like faster or safer
upgrades, etc. I think it would be fine, otherwise it will only confuse
people worse.

If everyone is eventually going to have to upgrade anyway, you might
consider holding off until then.

But either way, you know what's best.
