I just found it. It's cheap, it's simple, TAPI compliant for the PC
folks, and AppleEvents savvy for the MacOS folks.

These little buggers came out a few years ago and I forgot all about them.
It's just a little 1200 baud device you plug into your phone line. When a
call comes in it users Caller ID information to trigger your PIM or
FileMaker to "pop" that persons information up in the database.

It can page you when someone leaves a message, and if you use your telco's
voice mail feature, alert you to the presence of voice mail messages. It
will also act as a phone dialer. Did I mention that it's cheap? Retail is
like $119 and www.warehouse.com has them for $100.

The only drawback right now is that you need one for each phone line. We
have 5 phone lines so that would kind of suck but they plan a multi-line
version (or so their web site says). Anyone have any experience with these
little critters? What'dya say Shawn, if I buy one will you add the
functionality to Optigold?

Matt
