OK Shawn, you've got my curiousity piqued. Exactly WHAT electronic format
do you have the Manual in that allows you to export to PDF's and won't
allow you to <cut/copy/paste> text nor allow you to export the text?

Forget it, I just used my brain to determine that you use FrameMaker 5.5.
According to Adobe's web site, Framemaker will allow you to import AND
export Microsoft Word 4.x, 5.x, 6.x, and 7.0 files. If you upgrade to
version 5.5.6, you can even export MS Word 8.0 files.

One question though, since Framemaker will allow you to import a PDF into
an existing document, will it allow you to make alterations in another
layer or something?

Lastly, how about a HTML version of the documentation Shawn? Framemaker
has a HTML export feature. If it doesn't work, you can always use
Myrimidon. Just for grins I just output the first 50 pages of the manual
to see how it would look.

I'm not thrilled with the navigation that it throws in by default but it
wouldn't be hard to <awk/grep/sed> the html files to adjust it. If you
have a problem with me posting that, just say the word and I'll nuke it.
