Billing item payment priority and moreFrom: Paul Farber Date: Tuesday, November 19, 2002
Time: 6:42:17 pmOG is kicking butt... BUT (theres always a but)
Can a payment 'priority' be added to billing items? For example, customer
has dial up, and virus scanning ($10 and $1 respectively).
Customer only pays $10
OG closes out the dial up invoice because it has an 'invoice payment
priority' of 1, the virus scanning is say, 5. Currently the oldest invoice
get closed first... meaning that the $1 virus scanning could leave the dial
up with only $9 to apply, and then get put on hold due to having a balance.
Also, if an invoice is not paid, have the billing item automatically be
removed at the invoice due date. ie customer has dial up and virus
scanning ($10 and $1 respectively).
Customer pays $10.
OG applies the $10 to the invoice for dial up (see invoice payment priority
above) and then removes the virus scanning from the billing items so it
does not get billed again.
These two feature would solve 2 HUGE ISP problems. 1 automatically
removing services that are not paid for (ie a promotional service) and 2.
would apply partial payments (for whatever reason) to the more important
services and avoid the customer calling us idiots for putting the account
on hold becuase they forgot to add in payment for other services.
