OK, now after upgrading from 3.0x to 3.11, the option is showing to keep
logins and email passwords in sync. That is like a bandaid for bullet wound
though.
The exact thing that I was trying to avoid just happened...a user logged
into the web interface and created a new email login that was the same as
his username (bad - our radius database just kicked it out as duplicate, but
OPTI adds it to the account), then within minutes the customer 'deleted' his
email with matching login (very bad) so the radius database says you want to
delete 'xyzlogin', OK, it sees that login and deletes it. Now the customer
has no login, his email box was deleted and has absolutely no account
anymore and then of course calls us to find out why he can't log into the
Internet. There has to be a way to prevent any duplicate logins for those of
us who need that feature, for those that use realms, there username will be
different anyway (xyzlogin, and xyzlogin@domain.com are different right?) so
those shouldn't be a problem, but allowing duplicate identical logins seems
really wrong.
Help!
