Bad Name Specified Error

A user on one of our mailing lists (served by LetterRip) has complained that she's not getting all the messages sent to the list while a friend of hers is. Her e-mail address is at bcpl.net, and I checked the logs and found the following error a few times:

could not resolve domain name "bcpl.net" because a bad name was specified.

The strange thing is that sometimes LetterRip will send messages to this domain with no error. I scanned the logs and found a few other domains that gave the same error on some occasions, but worked fine on others.

The LetterRip machine is configured to use our in-house DNS running QuickDNS, which seems to be working just fine otherwise. Is this a problem with our DNS? The DNS for bcpl.net? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Ken
