My linux box has a user named 'optigold'. this user owns a script called newuser.

filemaker launches telnet, it connects to the linux box as 'optigold and execute a script with /home/optigold/newuser username password
then the script ads the user, changes the passed and emails a welcome letter to the user's mailbox. What could be simpler?
you could just as easily have the script on the linux box perform a string of commands on other boxes... Optigold ISP ist just the 'trigger'
I doubt a linux port is coming _soon_ though i'd expect one sometime after FM5 on mac os x.... but the telnet deal works now.

At this point in time, it's reasonable to believe that if it's metal and runs into your home, you'll be able to connect your computer to the Internet on it. (Personally, I can't wait for SepticNet)
