Hi Shawn,
If Optigold could realize that Shawn and Shawn@defaultdomain.com are the
same it would completely resolve this issue. In other words, (1) if no
domain is specified in the login and (2) the customer has no domains
then the default domain is automatically assumed as far as email
addresses are concerned.
So, here is my example.
New customer Stacy Jones creates 'stacy' as her username. Optigold knows
that the new username 'stacy' gets an email address listed in her
account as 'stacy' (which we know is really stacy@defaultdomain.com).
Then, here comes the problem.... A entirely different customer comes
along and decides to add an email address 'stacy@defaultdomain.com'. Now
there are two customer who have stacy@defaultdomain.com as their email
address in Optigold. Ugh. Two customers with problems now.
With the requested option added....
When the second customer tries to add stacy@defaultdomain.com Optigold
realizes this already exists and disallows it to be created. thereby
having zero unhappy customers :-)
**Special Note**
Accounts with their own domains should not be affected by this at all.
Just as it is now.
Is there a logic problem in Optigold to not allow this? I just don't
understand why this option cannot be added. Thanks. Lewis
