Search Again: QDNS 3.5.3 to 4.0 question From: Steve Linford Date: Saturday, February 15, 2003 Time: 11:28:36 am I've now moved my main machines to OS X so I'd like to upgrade QDNS 3.5.3 to 4.0 but first I want to check QDNS 4.0 does what I need... - My main DNS server is still on Mac OS 9 and will stay on OS 9 for about another year (as it runs other stuff, WebSTAR 4, etc.) so I need to keep this machine running QDNS 3.5.3. - My secondary DNS server is now an OS X machine which has BIND installed by default so I'd like to utilize BIND on it for the secondaries. So my question is: Can QDNS 4 in OS X administer domains whose master zones are on an OS 9 machine served by QDNS 3.5.3, and whose secondaries are on an OS X machine running BIND? If so, will QDNS 4 create zones on both servers (creating the master on the OS 9/QDNS 3.5.3 machine and automatically creating the secondary on the OS X/BIND machine)? -- Steve Linford Ultradesign Xtreme Network http://www.uxn.com
