Thanks ;)

OptiWrap is basically just a wrapper that calls the Microsoft XML object to
grab the results of a CDML page directly from the Web Companion and put it
into a variable. I have it set to use an "off port" behind-the-scenes
which can be totally firewalled off from the outside world. Thus, it
allows you to totally eliminate the need for the WSC and to do SSL much
easier, etc. It also allows you to "skin" the interface pretty easily,
which is what I did with OptiSkin. The front end files don't even have to
be on the same box as the FileMaker instance, e.g. you could run the front
end on a W2K IIS box and the back end on a MacOS X box. I'm probably going
to "skin" the ISP Management interface too, as there seems to be a huge
demand for that as well..

The added benefit of using a real scripting language is nice too. I'm
eventually going to recode it in ASP.NET, but really this could be done in
anything, including PHP (which would be best for cross-platform, but I
don't know PHP well enough yet). We also use it to pull some stuff from
our mySQL and MS SQL server and display right alongside CDML generated
data. I tried to keep it simple so when you upgrade the OG Web Interface
files, I can "keep up" just by modifying the CDML pages in the system,
never having to touch the framework. If you want, feel free post a link to
my free OptiWrap on your third party website/file archive for OptiGold, as
some folks have already found it useful for "skinning" their own site..
